It's been almost a year since the Sarmism debut album "Lessons" was released on Bricolage. That particular album was conceived and recorded during that infamous first lockdown period of spring/summer 2020.

This new record is the flip side of the coin, gone are the frustrations of prolonged periods indoors, replaced with the ability to see and appreciate the outside world with a new approach and fresh eyes.

"Wander Lands" is a bold and colourful musical statement from the Manchester producer. It blends together touches of glitch, IDM, electronica, ambient, techno and breaks.

Hypnotic, modular loops sit alongside vibrant synth work and uplifting pads that are brought in and out of focus through the haze of warm bass and gloopy but pristine sound design.

There's moments of atmospheric subtlety and deep listening that are counteracted by bursts of percussive chaos. The knack for laying down fantastic beats has long been a forte of Sarmism and here on "Wander Lands" those crisp patterns once again propel the music to another dimension as a myriad of sputtering rhythms push and pull the modular soundscapes to new heights.

An album that is rich and diverse in tone, texture and life. You are invited to wander...
